The Summer Adventure

...A lot has happened since my last blog entry--not all good i'm afraid.
T's "bestie" Monique (a.k.a. T's twin) was diagnosed with Leukemia and "super-air-freighted" back to New Brunswick. I mean, sure...it's GREAT to have to have our friends visit from the U.S.A., BUT this was a bit extreme,no?
LIFE is a crazy thing, it helps put things in better perspective when it needs to.
We spent just about every morning of our vacation delivering breakfast and attempting to "lighten the mood" with every visit--but still we felt helpless ::Imagine how our friends felt::
but GREAT NEWS, our friend is in remission (big fast forward--it's been June to September-ish that she's been fighting). And now it is October, she gets here bone marrow transplant (from her brother--effin A, right?) this month in Halifax,NS. Now we've been a bit spoiled, as they have been in our local area all summer (got to see them from time to time)--and NS is no too far away--but she is mostly quarantined...so road trips will not likely be an option.
Oh, did I mention--this is the most i've ever see her eat in all my years of knowing her...I mean, WHO actually gains weight while on chemo-treatments--WOOT--
Enough 'debbie-downer' stuff...
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE
...been here for a little over a month (feels like we've lived her forever, but in a good way).
Semi-Detached, 1400+ sq.ft--3 bedrooms, laundry and walk-through main bath (top floor), livingroom, dining room, kitchen, and *P-room on the main (half-bath)...and an UNSPOILED...MAN-CAVE in the basement
the lawn is growing in, and the drive-way just got paved--life is good!
* P-room ::translation:: bathroom right off the kitchen, only allowed to pee in...UNLESSS it is an emergency!

The Snow Adventure

It has been snowing this month of February...like a son-of-a-bleep--for real. We're not talking like 1-2 cm at a time...oh no, we're talking 10cm per snow fall--MININUM!

Here is a link from the local newspaper dated today, Feb.12th
And here are some pictures I took around the yard (with my iPhone 3gs)--keep in mind, it hasn't snowed in about a week, and some DID melt...sheesh.

--> this is the neighbours front porch, with no interior house heat to melt the snow off the roof--yikes!this is the back patio of our place, Clive (T's dad) has already shovelled it off once (notice the snow on the back part of the garage above the patio)
